I'm a Dillo! Week 4A

I think this is the part of the show where I say something about "Oh My God I'm A Dillo! Is Back I Can't Believe It's Back It's Finally Oh My God I-" anyway so yeah it's back.  Hooray!

Kenosha!

After weeks and weeks of begging, whining, whimpering, and being all rat-like, Timothy finally convinced me to drive him to the Kenosha Festival of Cartooning yesterday...  I don't have a photo of him at the festival, but here's a shot of him at a bowling alley in Lombard, for those of you who haven't met him yet:

Anyway, I wasn't able to make it to the festival myself (rats!), so I had Timothy remember everything he could for me with that short attention span of his...  he got to see presentations by Greg Cravens and Hilary Price and he learned a lot about cartooning/comic-stripping (which is kinda dumb- I'm the cartoonist, not him), and took some pictures in the "More Than Funny" exhibit at the Kenosha Public Museum.  What's more, he even brought home some souvenirs for me!



So... lookie here!  Two gifts from Greg Cravens...  The first one was an original Buckets strip, which is hanging proudly (and sloppily*) on my bedroom wall!

 *and by "sloppily" I'm talking about the way I hung it up, not the way it was drawn



But even better, Timothy got Mr. Cravens to doodle in my sketchbook!  Pretty awesome, right?  I mean, it's not very often you can draw in the notebook of someone as famous as me!!!.... oh wait... no... uh no, that's not right... oh yeah, I meant- it's not very often you can get an awesome cartoonist like Greg Cravens to draw one of your characters!

(It took me a while to wrestle this from Timothy, though... I think he thought it was for him)


So... Timothy said he had a blast!!!  Which is... pretty unfortunate for me because it means I'll HAVE to drive him again next year or else he'll have a fit...  And I'm also worried that he'll become a better artist than me if he keeps going to these things...  But until then, the I'm a Dillo! gang is all safe at home!  (And by the way, they're coming back to GoComics really soon!)

















Oh wait, one last thing!  This wouldn't be a "Greg Trail Arts" post without some art from Greg Trail!  And so, I give you... "How to Get to Wendy's from the Kenosha Public Museum"!

I've had this blog thing up in a while, but I haven't really told many people about it, so maybe my temporary departure from GoComics will bring in some more viewers.

Anyway, welcome to the blog!  I'm postponing work on my comic for the moment, but should be posting other things on this blog pretty soon.

I didn't use Denker R. Fox much in the first two weeks, but we're going to start learning a little bit more about him soon...
By now, I've started to get a feel for how this comic is going to shape up, and how I want to make it.  It looks absolutely nothing like I originally thought it would look like, but I'm proud of it nonetheless!

I'm a Dillo! Week 2A

Hello again!  This is Greg and welcome to I'm a Dillo! Week 2A!

I will be separating most of the weeks into two parts, rather than uploading six strips at a time, because I think it's kinda overwhelming to have six full strips on a single page.  I guess I kinda like having my comics in bite-sized bits, if you will. :)

I'm a Dillo! Week One

Hello everyone, and welcome to the first installment of I'm a Dillo!

I've been drawing this comic strip for a few months now, but I haven't gotten very far, and I'm sure this blog will catch up to my current comics very very quickly.  But I normally won't be posting very often.

Even though my drawing schedule is very irregular, I want to try to release my strips in an organized way.  I have been planning my comics in groups of six, as that is the number of daily strips a newspaper cartoonist would have to release every week, excluding the larger Sunday strips.  Thus, I will be posting strips in six-day packages to imitate a weekly schedule (even though it takes me much longer than a week to produce six comics).

Anyway, please enjoy this first addition of I'm a Dillo!
